Why StoneMandi exists

Sourcing stone in India is a fragmented process. Supply is spread across yards, factories and quarry towns; the same stone goes by different names in different markets; and a buyer usually has no reliable way to tell which business genuinely stocks what they need.

StoneMandi exists to make that process easier to navigate. Buyers can see stone from businesses we have reviewed, understand what they are looking at, and reach the right supplier without working through a directory of unverified listings.

How we work

Buyers discover stone on StoneMandi and send us their requirement. We read it, understand what the project actually needs, and connect the buyer with businesses that are relevant to it. We do not broadcast a requirement to every listed supplier — a buyer who asks about Banswara White for a floor should not end up fielding calls about granite countertops.

Where a buyer wants more help, we stay involved. Sourcing assistance is for people who know they need stone but are not sure which stone, which finish, or which supplier fits the project.

What we ask of businesses

Businesses apply to be listed and are reviewed before their profile goes live. Verification means we have carried out our business checks — it is not a guarantee of any particular transaction. Seller phone numbers and email addresses are never published; enquiries reach a business through us.

Where we are

StoneMandi is early. The marketplace is being built alongside the first businesses to join it, and the sourcing side is handled by people rather than software while we learn what buyers actually need. We would rather say that plainly than describe a scale we do not have.
